More Neon

I've already shared a neon inspired post recently, and I must say I'm not exactly thrilled about ALL the neon that's EVERYWHERE, but here are some toned pieces that would be fun to own (and pair with normal colors, not more neon)! Some of my girlfriends and I are having a neon night out when we go to the beach for memorial day weekend but our intentions are to be obnoxious - which is why I've had neon on the brain.

DIY Table Setting

Decorating my dining room table has become a regular event in our household and any holiday or weather change is a good enough excuse for me to switch things up. Remember my Christmas setting? I wish I would've documented my Easter one but I didn't think of it until I tore it down to do this one. Shayne's mom sent me this beautiful jadeite cake stand for a graduation present - I've been on the hunt for one FOREVER and I was ecstatic when it arrived in the mail! My immediate reaction was I needed to make a cake or cupcakes to use it but I haven't had any down time to bake. So, I decided it would be best displayed in the middle of the table for everyone to see! And I love that the bright green is perfect for Spring.

Use some of your favorite books or home catalogs as an added element.

I've had this old teapot from my mom sitting in the office,
and thought it would be a good piece to put flowers in

If the cake stand has a small lip be sure to use light books and don't pile them on!

Put some favorite flowers in the teapot!

Our table is large so I had plenty of room to place two cake stands on either side.

Work Wear

New work bag!
My days are all starting to run together now that school has picked back up full force and my days at work just keep getting busier! My instagram shots on a recent "work look" will have to suffice for the time being, but I do have some great spring posts in the work that you will see soon!

P.S. I am in LOVE with my new work bag. I have been in search of the perfect one forever and this one has been doing the job so far.  I have literally been spending the past few months scrolling through designer bags and finally decided to start looking more practical places (which is where I always find my things anyway) and not worry about "investing" in the perfect one. I found this Jessica Simpson bag at DSW in the "smoothest" cognac color.  It has a lot of compartments on the inside and outside and is deep enough to haul my gym and work gear every morning!

Fedorable

Fedora: Target, Shirt: GAP, Scarf: Boscov's, Jeans: Abercrombie & Fitch,
Shoes: TOMS, Gifted Watch (Sarah!) and hair tie c/o Target - haha!

Obsessing over fedoras right now. I love ones like these in neutral colors that can go with anything. They'll definitely be packed for the beach in May, and used on any sunny days like these.  I found these pink jeans in the clearance section at an Abercrombie last year and I always forget how soft and worn the denim feels until I put them on.

DIY Card Making

Homemade cards are much more personal, in my opinion, and it's a fun DIY project when the holidays roll around.  Now, I will admit - I spent all this time making Easter cards, and I never sent them out - sigghhh.  I only got through a few before I stopped, and then life came knocking back on my door and I completely forgot about them.  It was a good learning experience though! I learned, that next time, I will buy pre-made blank cards to stamp and print instead of making the card itself. It was a lot messier and more time-consuming than I liked. But I do like the idea of lining your card and envelope with the same paper - your recipient will know you customized a card just for them!

Easter Recap

We've started a new tradition of celebrating Easter at our house. My family came down from Pennsylvania and stayed the weekend with us. We go shopping, try new restaurants, and sight see until the big Sunday celebration. This was our second year hosting, and I must say it was nice to relax and not have a long drive home after a big meal. My niece and nephew are both now completely mobile and talking which made the day so much fun. Check out my photos below which summarize our day.

Mad Men Inspired

I don't know if any of you love Mad Men, but I usually spend the next day after a new episode airs re-watching it because I most likely spent the night before admiring hair, makeup, and outfits and not absorbing the content. Below are some favorite looks courtesy of Polyvore. Team Megan or Betty? Battle of the Drapers - I love both of their style!
