The Skin You're In

The frigid cold has set in, and although I'm happy it waited until January, I forgot about dry, itchy skin! Ugh! My mom took us (my sisters and I) to the dermatologist a few times growing up thanks to our cursed dry skin bumps that cover our arms and legs so I've always known what my skin needs. Thanks to her persistence in teaching us a good skin routine, I've always been religious about moisturizing my body and face, too. When winter sets in, it's unbearable if I skip any part of this routine - and I am grateful to only have to worry about my skin being dry opposed to breakouts, but it drives me crazy! I know that these products may not be the exact match for you but hopefully some part of my skin regimen can help you beat this cold weather.

As you can tell a lot of my go-to products are Mary Kay - that's what my mom always used and it works for me too - which is why you see it for face, lips & eyes. I prefer the classic skin care line because it's not oily, and they have a heavy moisturizer for night, and light for day.

I love the soothing eye gel; I always have bags in the morning when I don't get my preferred 20 hours of sleep (kidding, more like 10).

Their Satin Lips set is perfect in the winter if you get chapped lips like me. The gritty lip mask removes all dead skin and dirt and your lips literally feel like satin after you put on the lip balm. And of course there's always a Burt's in my bag, bathroom, car, and pocket... seriously.

Also in the winter, I prefer to use a tinted moisturizer (seeing a theme here? my skin is thirsty!) to prevent my face from flaking mid-day. I prefer Jemma Kidd's (for Target) line - look how pretty her skin is!

For body, I usually just use Vaseline Intensive Renewal Clinical Therapy but when the weather is really harsh, I turn to Lubriderm Advanced Therapy which was one of many recommendations from my dermatologist (it's usually too oily for summer).

And last but not least, for the most used part of your body ... HANDS! I love this little bottle of Vaseline Healthy Hands and Nails lotion. It's the perfect size to throw in your purse and it smells so delicate and fresh.
